Astrid Meffert –
Founder & Director
Astrid Meffert has dedicated her life to ensuring seniors receive the care, respect, and dignity they deserve. While living in Europe, she and her husband, Rainer, operated a wellness center focused on senior health, exercise, and preventative care. Beyond their business, they were heavily involved in their community, as well as caring for aging family members.
After moving to the U.S. in 2007 with their three sons, Astrid’s passion for elder care continued to grow. Having realized that there was a need for high quality, reasonably priced in-home care, and wanting to implement the best practices that she acquired in Europe, in 2011, Astrid founded Sweet Home California. After providing home care for eight years in San Luis Obispo county, Astrid realized that, when the time came, residential care was often the next step for her clients. With a strong desire to offer continuity of care and the extra assistance needed, in 2019 Astrid took over Oak Park Manor, to provide seniors with the warmth and attention they need in their later years. Her hands-on approach and deep care for each resident make Oak Park Manor a truly special place.
