Compassionate Care in a Place That Feels Like Home

When I moved my mother here, I looked at nearly all the higher end residence homes in the area, and while a few have fancier amenities, none have a more caring and attentive staff/management, which is the real measure of this kind of place. A small group of dedicated people with low turnover. You want a place that knows your family member like you know them; that can notice changes in their behaviors, monitor their wellbeing, be their advocate, and treat them with genuine kindness and respect. As well, you want a place that is professional, and knows and takes care of their business (RXs, podiatrists, manicurists, dental hygienists, physical therapists, etc.). And finally, you want a place where the staff goes above and beyond when difficult situations arise, sometimes taking on roles and responsibilities that are beyond the normal scope of their work: referrals, a ride to the hospital, visits in the ER, email updates to the family. Oak Park Manor may not have a fancy movie theater or a golf course or whatever else, but they have the real stuff; the stuff that really matters. Which is why they are well known and well respected by the other, more ritzy homes in the area, and why, as a son who lives in another state, I trust them to be the leader of my mother’s care team, allowing me to focus more on being a son than worrying about every detail of her care. —— UPDATE: 3 years later —— This place has been outstanding and continues to outperform my expectations. Their communication, professionalism, patience, and kindness is unmatched. The management cares about people; and they hire staff who cares. Every time I go home, I am so thankful that we chose Oak Park Manor.

The best care to be found! We relocated my mother here after having her at a fancy local corporate owned facility. They care about their residents. They treat all of us like family. The staff is first class and super helpful and friendly. The well being of their residents is clearly their priority. They vet their residents based on their individual needs and aren't trying to simply fill their rooms and sell extra services. They really care. Oak Park Manor has given my family a sense of security in regards to our mother's day to day well being.

There is truly something special about Oak Park Manor. After looking at nearly every memory care option on the Central Coast for my mom, within minutes of meeting everyone at Oak Park Manor, for the first time I felt relief and confidence that she would be well cared for here. There is a wonderful, family-like atmosphere that is genuine. While moving my mom's things into her room, I overheard many of the caretakers and other staff talking to the residents...it was loving, caring and with a touch of fun and humor. Even the residents seemed more lively, engaged and truly happy. I'm already planning when I'm unable to live on my own, I'm going to Oak Park Manor!!

Very impressed with the compassionate care Oak Park Manor provides! I felt they did an excellent job of protecting their residents & staff during the pandemic. Every day I am comforted knowing that my Dad is happy and well cared for.

The staff is outstanding & always there for my dad. They’ve helped him with the transition and made him feel at home. Shelly & Astrid are always available for my questions or concerns. Visited several sites & was very impressed with this facility. I have always felt my dad was safe & being well taken care of.

Choosing an elder care facility for my father was no easy task. I visited many in the area before choosing Oak Park Manor. Now that my father has been a resident for over a year, I know I made the right choice. The entire staff is professional, compassionate, attentive, very safe and treat each resident with dignity and kindness. They have proven to me that the health, happiness and safety of each resident is of utmost priority to them. Additionally I love that they continue to provide personal updates to me with pictures, fun events, or any concerns regarding my father. The facility is in a lovely area with a nice garden, fountain and hummingbird feeder- touches that mean a lot to my father. This place is doing what they do for all the right reasons.

My mom has been at the oak Park Manor for the past 4 years and I've been very well pleased with the way she's been taken care of. The past year and a half with the covid moment has been a challenging experience for the staff as well as for my mom and our family. Safety at this time was their top priority for their residents and they handled it very well. I'm not sure how much longer my mom will be here in this life, but at the home she has at Oak Park Manor I know that she will be treated with love and care.

Very caring. Highly individualized. They really connect with the residents and go out of their way to provide a warm and engaging environment.
